Time to update your TAE qualification

Modification in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations – Effective 1st April 2019

On the 5th July 2017 The Standards for Registered Training Organisations were modified for the TAE qualification requirements for trainers and assessors effective from 1 April 2019. This means you have just under 2 years to possibly upgrade your qualification (if you don’t meet the other criteria). I highly recommend you start planning this now, so you allow for the extra time requirements, and the additional portfolio of evidence you might need to produce.

The TAE qualification is an important part of your RTO and it’s compliance.

Choices

There are choices for you AND you can keep your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and add one of the following:

(i) TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or

(ii) TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

as well as one of the following:

(iii) TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or

(iv) TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or

(v) TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.

or you can upgrade to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Alternatively, if you are in a position to obtain a Diploma, you also can upgrade (and meet the requiremetns for 2019) to a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.

The amendment and all the different solutions can be viewed via this link.

So if you have an RTO and you need to make sure your trainers and assessors have the right TAE qualification, double check your records.  Sure you have a bit of time to get things right, but you know how time flies when managing an RTO!
